We left Christmas Eve night to make the trek up to Grandma Julie's and Grandpa Tracy's. My brother Brenten was home for Christmas after his deployment in Afghanistan. I was very excited for Cam to meet her uncle for the first time.
In addition to seeing Brenten, we were also transporting my Mom's new wedding ring. She had her original ring melted down and added sapphire's and diamonds from Grandma Hamil via Aunt Peggy. I wanted to make her open it on Christmas but Tracy relented and allowed her to open it Christmas Eve night. I think everyone wishes she waited until Christmas because we didn't stop hearing about the ring. (I think I still hear about it in my sleep!) It was a very nice ring. I was slightly apprehensive considering it had been awhile since I've seen my mother wear that much bling!! I think she liked it more for its sentimental value but it still is gorgeous.
Well Camryn did not disappoint as she tossed and turned all night this time as well. The only difference being she actually wanted to sleep past Eight; much to Aunt Sam and Uncle Trace's disappointment (they couldn't open presents until everyone was home and upstairs - - they did have to wait awhile).
Camryn didn't show any more interest in opening presents today either and quite enjoyed all of the commotion of the early morning with the massive present opening. Some how Scott and I ended up on a helicopter theme for gifts as my nephews (Zack and Christian) and my brothers (Brenten and Trace) all received helicopters.
Toro got into the gift opening as well. He really does love his toys. Though I'm not sure if my mom is trying to turn him into a cat. C'mon a ball with a bell in it!!
I am happy to say that I probably doubled my wardrobe after this Christmas. Santa brought the family Guitar Hero World Tour. For those of you not familiar with this "video game" it consists of essentially a 3 piece band (guitar, drums and microphone). Out of all the instruments the mic is by far the most difficult part to participate in. Each "player" needs to play certain notes at the right time to proceed. A lot more difficult than it sounds though I do recommend it to everyone.
After Christmas at Mom's we spent the afternoon at Grandma Linda's. Camryn started getting cranky but took an afternoon nap that allowed mom and dad to eat an almost peaceful meal. It was nice to have almost everyone from Mom's side of the family at Christmas. Grandma Linda, Grandpa Bob, Uncle Mike, Aunt Lori, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Willie, Connie, Willie, Carmen, Amy and the boys, Mom, Tracy, Sam and Trace, Brenten, Audrey and Us.
