What a Mover - 6 months old

From Evan
6 months
at least 13 pounds

From Evan
From Evan

There is definitely a resemblance between their sixth month pictures. It looks like cam may have weighed a little more but the baby books disagree.

Yep we decided to keep Mom and Dad on their toes and started crawling way before Cam ever thought about it (at least that is how it feels)

From Evan
Cam definitely loves her little brother. But now she thinks he is her personal baby doll. She feels she can pick him up and place him in her doll's stroller or her doll's carseat or even her bed. We have been lucky so far and caught all of these baby stealing attempts and helped. We are just waiting for the day that Evan is dropped on his head. At least will be able to tell him to blame his big sister for his problem and not his parents.
We were definitely surprised by how soon Evan decided to crawl. He was scooting around at 5 1/2 months and really this week put together the reciprocal hand-leg crawling pattern.
Evan refuses to sleep through the night and refuses to eat cereal. He does love chewing on anything and everything. He will gum a piece of crusty bread to death as well as cooked carrots and raw apples. He tried sweet potato, applesauce and pears. I just don't think he is ready to take anything off of a spoon. He better soon otherwise he definitely will be a peanut with all the crawling he is doing.

Cam continues to do well. Her vocabulary and imagination continue to amaze us. Actually, the most amazing thing is her memory. She recalls breaking her leg last year. You definitely cannot tell her something with the hope that she will NOT remember it tomorrow.

Cam's 3rd Birthday

Thanks to everyone who made it out to celebrate with us. We missed those who could not attend for various reasons. Cam enjoyed herself and passed out by 8ish. For some reason our camera did not like the new CF we placed in it so the pictures only came out from the 2nd half of the party.
Here is a picture from her second birthday.

And from her first birthday.

She sure has changed a lot. But the personality remains the same. An initial hesitancy and no one is going to tell her what to do.

Thank you to everyone for your help and support. Love ya.

5 months Down

From Evan

At least 13 pounds and 23 inches or so
But full of personality
In this short amount of time Evan can roll front-back and back-front. He likes scooting while on his back (sorta like a reverse inch worm). But probably his greatest accomplishment is his grip. Camryn has lost gobs of hair; I swear there are times I can let go and he would still hold on to me. My day isn't complete unless I feel like Evan mauled me at least once.

From Camryn's 1st year
Camryn at 5 months old
We have been super busy. Scott and I went to Italy at the end of January. He earned the trip through work for being the 2nd chemistry sales rep in the nation for Siemens. We had a fantastic time. Grandma Julie, Grandpa Tracy and Aunt Amy watched Evan and Cam for us. I wasn't worried about how Cam and Evan would do but more concerned Grandma and Grandpa would be dealing with early wake up calls, etc all over again. Everyone seemed to fair well and they even offered to do it again. (Unfortunately I don't think an all expense paid trip is in our future any time soon).

No we are coming to the grand finale of Uncle Brent's wedding on April 2nd.I am trying to have Cam practice her part of flower girl. Aunt Laura gave Cam her first introduction to being a flower girl in August so she has some experience.

From Evan
Camryn decided that pajamas are the best. She prefers to wear them whenever possible and it can be a struggle  to get her to wear regular clothes. We entered the throes of her dressing herself and I find myself explaining that just wearing a tutu in 30 degree weather is not sufficient.
She displays a fair amount of sibling rivalry. But she really does love him. I feel her jealousy is more related to splitting mommy time.

Finally, a Thanksgiving recap

Grandpa Bob's free range raised turkey with the delicious cooking of Uncle Mike.  It was a large bird but I think a few pounds shy of last year's (it actually fit in the oven).

The kids played football.

And we ate.

Grandpa Tracy met Evan for the first time.

And then we repeated with the Nicholson fam.

And it feels like with every holiday both Evan and Camryn were sick.  Evan had bronchiolitis and required breathing treatments for a week.  Cam we treated with Motrin and Vick's.

So off to Christmas.

Let it snow

Our first snow of the season was substantial.  Camryn actually enjoyed the snow.  Last year she didn't want to touch it and definitely didn't want to sled in it.  That definitely changed this year. She ran right out in the snow and didn't think twice about sledding with mom or dad.  Every time mom/dad wanted to go in she insisted on "two more times, ok."

While we may be awhile from her actually helping shovel she sure did try.  Mom and dad broke down and bought a snow blower with credit card points.  We will hopefully have it by our next snow fall.

2 Months

From Evan
21 inches 10 pounds

In his first two months he experienced: 2 holidays, 1 wedding and his first illness.  Our children always decide to contract an illness during the holidays.  Evan had bronchiolitis.  Cam never had an illness except for an ear infection after she was one year old.  So Evan being sick at 6 1/2 weeks just broke my heart every time he coughed.  Then his voice grew hoarse and his heart-break level went up with every cry.  On a positive note, his sickness made me realize how much I love our new doctor.  I switched pediatricians after Cam broke her leg because her pediatrician never gave a follow-up call after I called in and requested an orthopedic referral.  Our new pediatrician called me two times after our visit with Evan.

Looking forward, Evan will experience his first day of daycare on Tuesday and I go back to work on Monday.  I was apprehensive about it at first but those fears have been alleviated.  Evan demonstrated that with a push and a shove he will drink a bottle.  (Oh I forgot to mention Scott will have both Cam and Evan all by himself on Monday; maybe I should still be apprehensive).
